“You can make anything by writing.”
C.S. Lewis

“There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they’ll take you.”
Beatrix Potter

At Stanningley Primary School, we aim to provide our children with many rich experiences and exposure to a wide variety of quality texts, upon which they can base their own writing. Writing will be taught through whole class, group and individual approaches; teachers will always provide good quality models of what writing can look like and contexts for writing that children can relate to. Teachers will maintain high expectations of what all children can write and will develop and deepen children’s writing at their own level, using the National Curriculum statements and the DFE writing assessment grids to enable children to make gradual and sustained progress.
