Year 2 Celebrate VE Day

On May 8th, 1945, Victory in Europe (VE) Day marked the official end of World War II in Europe. Year 2 enjoyed learning about this important historical event and why it is still remembered today.

We explored who Winston Churchill was and looked at slides to help us understand his role during the war. The children were fascinated to learn about life during that time and how people celebrated when the war ended.

To mark the occasion, we made our very own Union Jack flags, which we proudly waved as we shared what we had learned. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect, remember, and celebrate together.
